Mentorship

The purpose of the Young Professional feature is to highlight motivated young women who at an early age have already demonstrated passion, determination, and a focus on community.  The hope is to develop connections between them and more established or successful women with similar interests so that a series of networks may grow and cultivate long-term mentorship and career opportunities.  As a professional woman, I try to connect the younger generation of professional women I encounter–whether it be my babysitter, my patient, or a neighbor– to other women I know that might be able to help them along the way.  I feel this is an obligation I have and something I wish someone would have done for me.  This page is an extension of that “helping hand”.  But it only works if we all take part in it!  Spread the word!  If you know someone who might be able to mentor, connect, offer job advice, or better yet a job, to one of these young women pass on their CV or contact info!  Also, send me any suggestions you may have of an amazing young woman you would like to see featured on our mentorship page!

Mona Asra Mohiuddin

I am very passionate about diversity, networking, and philanthropy.  These characteristics make up the core of my personality and I believe they are an important key in being successful in all leadership roles.

I feel that diversity creates an organization that is enriched with people from different cultures and that have different experiences, lifestyles, backgrounds, perspectives, and ideas. Most importantly, diversity encourages the exchange of ideas which not only broadens the scope of problem solving, but also improves the possibility that the problems will be solved.

It is important for me to be a part of an organization that deeply values diversity.

Networking has been an invaluable tool throughout my career and I also feel that it is vital for the growth and success of any organization.I am an excellent networker and know the equal importance of building as well as maintaining key relationships.

Philanthropy has always been a large part of my life. Giving back to the community through volunteering, fundraising, and mentoring are large components of my life. 

I have developed skills in public affairs, community outreach, event and project management, and strategic counseling.  My experience in these areas would be impactful to any organization on multiple levels.

I have acquired a solid reputation for effective networking and strategic alliance building amongst entrepreneurs, business professionals, and community leaders

I have a proven ability to lead professionals with diverse backgrounds and the ability to unite them around common goals and purposes.  While I am a leader, I am also a solid team player and maintain the ability to perform effectively in either role depending on the needs of your organization.
