Bio

Elizabeth Yepez, MD is a board certified obstetrician and gynecologist based out of a Chicagoland private practice.  She also serves as a Clinical Instructor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Medicine.

Dr. Yepez graduated from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed her residency training at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

As an undergraduate, Dr. Yepez majored in Anthropology and Women’s Studies.  This background, combined with her medical training, has given her a unique perspective in her approach to patient care.  She sees the patient as a whole person and connects with them on multiple levels.  In this manner, she is able to deliver obstetrical and gynecological care customized to a woman’s individual needs.

Dr. Yepez has focused much of her career in eliminating racial and socioeconomic health disparities.  Much of this is through women’s health education, teaching women about their bodies and encouraging them to be engaged in decisions about their health and well-being.  She also works with adolescent girls and provides lectures on sex education that instill self-worth and promote decision-making skills at an early age.

She is active in the Latino community, and thanks to her fluency in Spanish, has been featured as a women’s health expert in various types of media outlets where she communicates to populations of different at-risk backgrounds and helps improve knowledge on important health concerns.

One of her passions is finding ways to connect women with similar interests and goals to stimulate relationships, leading to invigorating projects and mentorship opportunities.

Dr. Yepez ultimately promotes empowerment of women and active participation in our communities.

The launch of her website, dryepez.com, aims to further educate, engage and empower women everywhere.
